It has three basic applications. Firstly, it can be used to manually collect data if you have a cable and a PC or field display. You can take a series of measurements throughout the day, and then download all the saved data to the PC.
Secondly, it can operate unattended for weeks powered by external batteries. The instrument can be set to record a series of readings every half hour, and weeks later the instrument can be retrieved and the data downloaded.
Thirdly, the Manta 2 can connect to a telemetry system. The instrument can be used in a location where access is dangerous or expensive. A data logger acquires data from the probe and transmits it to a web server.
