Micromac SmarTox is a portable analyzer for the automatic measurement of acute toxicity in water.

Micromac SmarTox is a portable analyzer for determining acute toxicity in water, equipped with a color LCD touchscreen and housed in an industrial-grade case featuring two refrigerated compartments: one for the rehydrated bacterial solution and the other for the reaction cuvette where the toxicity test is performed.

The analyzer automatically measures the effect of the liquid sample on the aliquot of luminescent bacteria previously injected by the operator and, in less than 15 minutes, is able to issue an inhibition alarm if the sample is toxic.

The operator simply needs to use the provided pipette to dispense the sample, the buffer solution, and the solution containing the bacteria, following the simple on-screen instructions. All results can be printed using the built-in thermal printer. Micromac SmarTox is based on a luminometric reader and uses a synthetic cuvette with high optical purity. The Micromac SmarTox analyzer can be used anywhere thanks to its built-in battery, which provides power for an entire day.

Real-time graph of percentage inhibition, updated every 30 seconds

Once analysis begins, the system reads each cuvette every 30 seconds, via an internal servomotor, displaying the result graphically on the screen and calculating the percentage inhibition value in real-time.

Up to 3 samples analysed simultaneously along with a blank

The 4 cuvette reading positions can be used for the measurement of three samples and one blank. The values read in positions containing the same sample will be automatically averaged by the internal software.
