Micromac-Smart is a portable analyser for rapid and accurate field water analysis.

µMAC-Smart è un Portable analyser fully controlled by a complete industrial PC with a colour “touch” display, specifically designed for the on-site monitoring of all types of water resources.

µMAC-Smart is robust and reliableThe analyser is housed in a robust and compact plastic case, easy to transport and complete with space for liquid reagents and other accessories. A dedicated holder keeps the reagent bottles and other solutions in place.

The analyser is easy to install and it is designed for ease of use, after a short training course. It is shipped from the factory fully tested using the required methods and ready for use; stabilised liquid reagent kits are available for standard methods. Results are stored within the instrument's memory and can be downloaded via the USB port.

Getting the instrument up and running has never been easier! Simply switch on the instrument, insert the reagent and other solution dip tubes into their corresponding bottles, and user-friendly software will guide you through the few steps necessary to perform automated analyses.

Automatic calibrations

The analyser's calibration is fully automatic; you only need to use the solution specified in the manual and start the calibration cycle. The new calibration factor is verified against the previously stored one according to pre-settable limits and is then automatically updated.

Multivariate analysis

The analyser can be configured at the factory to perform sequential multiparametric analyses on the same sample; the standard multiparametric configurations are detailed below.

Multiple analyses

The analyser allows multiple analyses to be carried out continuously; the operator selects the methods to be used and starts the automatic sample analysis, even in flow, with a selectable measurement interval.

Automatic out-of-range analysis

The analyser recognises out-of-range analyses and re-analyses the sample using automatic dilution, the dilution factor is predetermined at the factory.

Optional sampler

The analyser can be optionally fitted with a portable sampler, which allows for the automatic measurement of up to 8 previously collected samples.

µMAC-Smart: standard multiparameter configurations

  • MP4 Nutrients: Ammonia (OPA in fluorimetry), Nitrates+Nitrites, Nitrites and Orthophosphates (colorimetric).;
  • Total nitrogen (UV digestion + direct reading of NO3 UV at 220 nm), possibly combined with ammonia (colorimetric method);
  • Total phosphorus (UV + high temperature combined digestion and colorimetric PO4 measurement), optionally combined with ammonia (colorimetric or fluorimetric method);
  • Total Phosphorus and Total Nitrogen (UV digestion + UV reduction NO3 and colorimetric NO2 measurement) ECO version: COD/TOC (direct UV reading at 254 nm), combined with BOD (fluorimetric method) and TSS (nephelometric method).

Measurement Principles - COD UV: SAC at 254 nm, turbidity correction at 550 nm according to DIN 348404-3; correlation of COD with a known calibration sample
- BOD FLUOR: Fluorimetric measurement (tryptophan type) with excitation at 280 nm, emission at 360 nm; BOD correlation via tryptophan calibrator to be adjusted and/or performed on-site
- Turbidity: measurement at 850 nm according to ISO 7027 standard; option: correlation with TSS to be performed on-site
- UV nitrates: direct reading at 220 nm, correction at 275 nm
- Colorimetric methods: as per the method description
