ON-LINE ANALYZERS

SYSTEA manufactures a wide range of on-line analyzers, named Micromac C, using well established and standard colorimetric methods applied on more than 50 applications of chemical compounds monitoring in water.

MICROMAC C is a microprocessor controlled colorimetric on-line analyzer specifically designed for on-line industrial and environmental control unattended monitoring.

The use of the patented technology Loop Flow Analysis (LFA) ensures:

  • the highest level of robustness in the electronics, mechanics and hydraulics components;
  • reliable multiparametric sequential measurements of up to four chemical compounds in waste, surface and drinking water with the same device.

PORTABLE ANALYZERS

Two products are available for portable analysis of chemical parameters in water:

  • μMAC-1000 on-line and portable analyzer
  • μMAC-Smart portable analyzer.

Both products are available either in mono or sequential mutiparametric configuration, providing the highest level of analytical automation and compactness. μMAC-1000 andμMAC-Smart are the only available high sensitivity multiparametric portable analyzers using colorimetric approved methods.

These analyzers can measure many type of water samples on a wide range of applications, including sea water.

WIZ probe

Water in-situ analyzer

WIZ probe is the state of the art portable “in-situ” probe, to measure automatically up to four chemical compounds in surface and sea water.

The innovative design allows an easy handling and field deployment by a single user.

WIZ probe allows, in the standard configuration, the detection at trace levels of the main four nutrients compounds:

  • ammonia (N-NH3)
  • orthophosphate (P-PO4)
  • nitrate + nitrite N-(NO3+NO2)
  • nitrite (N-NO2).

WIZ probe automatically manages the well known spectrophotometric wet chemistries and an advanced fluorimetric method for ammonia measurement.

Many other analytical methods are available on request, including silicates, Total P, Total N, iron and other metals.

WIZ Pro is the most advanced analytical probe for field applications:

  • the 1.5 ml micro Loop Flow Reactor (μLFR*) enables an extremely low consumption of reagents and calibrants
  • the exclusive multibeam compact, optic fibers based, colorimetric detector, coupled with a state of the art fluorimeter
  • the new compact cylindrical design allows the deployment as any conventional water quality monitoring probes available in the market
  • the new innovative “plug-in” and compact reagents container allows an immediate field reagents and calibration solutions changeover.

Results are directly provided in concentration units; all measured values are stored with date, time and sample O.D.; the same data are remotely available through a serial communication port, which allows the complete probe configuration and remote control using the external Windows® based Wiz Control Panel software.

The Wiz reagents container:

Reagents and calibrants flexible bags are placed inside the “plug-in” compact reagents container.

The bags are connected to the internal analytical reactor with an enhanced version of our exclusive fast hydraulic 10 lines multiconnector*, ensuring quick replacement in the field.

Reagents consumption is limited to about 30-60 microliters of each reagent per single analysis; the reagents container is designed to contain up to 500 ml of reagents and calibrant solution, to ensure at least 1000 automatic field analysis.

Auto-calibration is performed using concentrated standard solutions, contained in the same reagents container.

Micromac ECO

On-line analyzer for COD/BOD/pH/TSS or COD/Color/pH/TSS

MICROMAC ECO is a microprocessor controlled on-line analyzer, specifically designed for automatic monitoring at the outlet of WWTPs.

  • Robust and Reliable
    Designed for industrial and environmental on-line applications, it ensures the highest level of robustness in the electronics, mechanics and hydraulics components. With a complete separation between electronics and hydraulics and a simple and robust hydraulics allows long term and reliable operations.

On-line filtration

Self-Cleaning Filtration Unit

For waste water or other dirty samples application a self-cleaning filtration unit can be installed close to the analyzer. Thanks to the integrated PLC, the filtration unit runs periodically a self cleaning cycle, using compressed air generated externally or even internally (as option). One filtration unit can be used to supply a clean water sample up to 10 analyzers.

Easy to install 
The filtration unit is delivered completely assembled on a stainless steel and PVC frame, ready for connection to a sample line. It is sufficient to connect the main sample line, the waste line and the analyzer’s filtered sample line.
 
Low maintenance 
  • Self cleaning cycle and long life pump tube ensures low maintenance cost.
  • Analyzer controlled: Micromac activates the filtration unit only when the analytical cycle starts.
  • Stainless steel filter ensures long operation and no corrosion with the most common matrix.

Micromac COD

On-line analyzers for COD monitoring
in water and wastewater

 

Three versions of COD on-line analyzers are available:

  • dichromate method
  • permanganate index method
  • UV direct reading method.

The dichromate method follows the international standard where in the sample, after filtration, Potassium Dichromate, Mercury (II) sulfate and Sulfuric acid with a proper catalyst are added; Mercury (II) sulfate concentration is adjusted to mask the expected Chloride amount.

The sample is then heated at 170° for 20 minutes or at 150° up to 2 hours (digestion time and digestion temperature can be adjusted depending on the matrix to digest completely all the substances that give a contribute to COD). After digestion the sample is cooled and the absorbance measured at 592 nm is proportional to a COD concentration.

The permanganate index is defined as the quantity of oxygen, expressed as mg/l, equivalent to the consumed permanganate when a water sample is treated with as solution of potassium permanganate in acid environment and at a temperature of 100°C for 10 minutes. The sample is mixed with diluted sulphuric acid, it is then heated at about 100°C, when the first addition of KMnO4 is performed: this first addition may be followed by others, depending on the measuring range. The digestion time in the standard configuration is set to 10 minutes but it can be selected depending on the matrix.

After digestion the sample is cooled and the decrease of the absorbance measured at 525 nm corresponds to the permanganate consumed by the organic substance.

The UV direct reading method is a more simple method where the COD is correlated to the direct light absorption of the water sample measured at 254 nm.

MICROMAC C is a colorimetric microprocessor controlled On Line analyzer specifically designed for automatic monitoring on several type of waters matrix.

  • Robust and Reliable: designed for industrial and Environmental On Line applications ensures the highest level of robustness in the electronics, mechanics and hydraulics components. Complete separation between electronics and hydraulics plus a simple and robust LFA* hydraulics allows long and reliable operations.
  • Easy to install: the analyzer is delivered only after a long and successful series of final tests. It is ready for installation, without any further adjustment, and is complete of a spares set for start up. To start monitoring is enough to connect sample line, waste line and power supply.
  • Automatic Calibration: upon a user selectable Calibration Time expiring the analyzer perform a Calibration Cycle, storing and checking the new calibrant O. D. If new O.D. exceed selected limits, an alarm contacts is closed.
  • Sample dilution: each sample can be analyzed as it is or in dilution mode. Dilution mode can be activated also on off scale samples with a dilution factor, factory selected, up to 100.
  • Measuring interval: user selectable; between two measurements the analyzer remain in stand by mode, without reagents consumption.
  • Off scale reanalyze: The analyzer identify off scale samples, and starts the analysis in dilution mode automatically.
